About the Team
The Global Public Policy AMS team’s work spans a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy, product, and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the team is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
  • Serve as liaison and point of contact for the US public policy team's relationships with third-party organizations including multinational organizations, civil society, academics, and trade associations;
  • Identify, manage, and foster relationships with key public policy partner organizations focused on issues such as online safety, content moderation, privacy, civil and human rights, government relations, and civic engagement;
  • Represent TikTok in industry working groups and coalitions as needed;
  • Produce informational materials distributed to key public policy audiences; and
  • Provide cross-functional teams with feedback to continuously improve the platform.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the broader tech advocacy ecosystem.
  • Experience managing stakeholder or partner relationships, working with or for nonprofits, government, or political or advocacy organizations is essential. Experience specifically working with multinational organizations, groups focused on minor safety, and/or center-left tech policy advocates is a plus.
  • Passionate about TikTok. Tech-savvy or strong comfort around technology.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, and a natural ability to build relationships.
  • Strategic and creative thinker. Able to see the bigger picture, set goals and deliver results.
  • Outstanding judgment, persuasive and advocacy skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment. A problem-solver experienced at remaining focused and calm when problems come your way.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on finding practical, implementable tools and operational solutions.
  • Self-motivated; can identify and complete work without being instructed.
