Job Description
The Dylan Fernandes for State Senate campaign is accepting applications for our Summer Fellowship. Fellows will have the opportunity to work directly with our candidate, Dylan Fernandes, and campaign staff on a wide range of policy, political, fundraising, and organizing projects.
Fellows must have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent work ethic, a commitment to Democratic values and good governance, and a drive to win. A background in public and community service is a positive.
Fellows will develop valuable skills in event planning, communication, and grassroots organizing. Political campaigns provide a launching pad to careers in law, politics, government, marketing, and public relations.
Time commitment: ~15 hours per week
Duration: June - September (start and end dates flexible)
Potential Fellow Projects:
- Design and implement a strategy to build out Dylan’s grassroots campaign
- Make direct pitch to voters about Dylan’s campaign at their door or over the phone
- Help plan and execute a fundraiser or house party
- Organize and participate in campaign events
- Execute social media and communications strategies
- Research current issues in the race and prepare recommendations
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfort with talking to voters on the phone and at their door
- Professional and friendly attitude, good sense of humor
- Strong organizational skills
- Interest in government, policy, or politics
- Be located in or near the Plymouth & Barnstable District
