Job Description

US Senate Remote Internship Field Campaign

National Republican Senatorial Committee

Remote

Campaign to return Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) to the US Senate

Remote Field Internship

The National Republican Senatorial Committee in conjunction with the Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue Senate campaigns are recruiting remote interns to work with the NRSC, the Georgia Republican Party and the Republican National Committee for the Georgia Senate runoff elections on January 5th, 2021.

As a remote field intern, you will be remotely embedded in a Loeffler/Perdue/NRSC/RNC Field Office in Georgia. Meeting with staff at least weekly via video conferencing, you will be assigned weekly voter contact goals while also welcome to join virtual political meetings via Zoom. Staff will perform all paperwork and reporting that is required by your internship program if you are able to receive credit through your school. Not for credit interns welcome.

We welcome all prospective remote interns to apply regardless of location.

Interns will receive valuable campaign and political experience typically necessary to later move in to a paid position in politics. Interns in good standing will receive a letter of recommendation from the NRSC Regional Director as well as credit pending good standing and scholastic approval as well as a positive job reference.

All interviews with prospective interns will be conducted over Zoom.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be able to use your experience to enact real world changes, and take part in two of the most contested and publicized U.S. Senate races in history. These races will determine whether or not Republicans hold the Senate and can serve as a check on the Democratic Party's agenda. You’ll take part in virtual phone banks, providing important ground level voter contact and providing election information critical to getting voters to the polls.

During weekly video conference meetings, you will learn how to run a campaign field program with lessons on:

Building and managing a base of volunteers

Social media strategy, messaging and communications

Strategizing what voters a campaign needs to focus on, when and best practices on reaching different types of voters

Technical aspects of converting information on voters into actionable messaging using tools provided by the Republican Party

Developing and maintaining connections with political power brokers

Analyzing precincts in your territory to determine which have the most swing voters and which supporters need the most prodding to turn out.

This curriculum is designed to prepare you to step into and excel at a paid campaign position as a Field Organizer, Political Director or Field Director. Speaking with supporters in Georgia over the phone gives you the experience in voter contact needed to be involved in grassroots campaigning and helps Get out the Vote to maintain our Senate Majority.

You’ll Work With:

Like minded, driven individuals. You’ll work alongside college and high school age interns, volunteers, field staff and senior level campaign staff.

Internship Credit/Service Hours:

Your remote internship will qualify for credit at most universities. See guidelines for how to apply for credit within your specific school's department. Your internship may also cover elective or required courses in most Political Science programs.

Internship hours may also count for service hours for Greek and other organizations, email for more information on eligibility.

Interns not looking for credit and want job experience or to help keep a Republican majority in the Senate are welcome!

What You'll Get:

Interns committing 60 hours throughout the campaign (roughly 10 hours per week) will receive a letter of recommendation from the NRSC National Director upon completing the internship. Interns will also qualify to receive credit pending your school's approval as well as a positive job reference and resumé item assuming good standing.

Job Type: Internship
