ABOUT THE PROGRAM TEAM:

The Program Team supports FPWA’s larger mission by building the capacity of the human services sector to use a trauma-informed and people-centered approach to service delivery, organizational effectiveness, and civic engagement. This will result in an effective and impactful sector, best positioned to serve their clients and communities.

The Program Team uses a 3-pronged approach to support the increased effectiveness and impact of human services organizations:

  • Capacity Building (training, technical assistance, resources, and relational capacity support)
  • Program Grants (organizational grants and individual financial assistance)
  • Systems Change (civic engagement and policy advocacy)


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Program Coordinator role sits primarily within our capacity building portfolio of work with some administrative duties related to our Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) grant work and other programmatic areas.

The Program Coordinator will be an integral part of a 4-person Program Team, working within the larger Program and Policy Department of approximately 10 people. This role will also liaise closely with our Membership Team, Communications Team, and Finance Team, respectively.

We anticipate that the person in this role will spend approximately 70% of their time on work related to trainings and events (i.e. outreach, registration, data management, etc.) and approximately 30% of their time other administrative duties, such as the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (i.e. processing orders and invoices, data entry, preparing check requests and finance reports, etc.).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the outreach and registration processes for our Fall Foundational Trainings (virtual), Spring Specialized Convenings (in-person), and other program-related trainings and events.
  • Collecting and managing data lists, including contacts, registration, and survey data.
  • Supporting the Manager of Capacity Building in the coordination and delivery of one-off sessions and initiatives, program-to-policy conversations, and other events as needed.
  • Supporting the Manager of Capacity Building in distributing and marketing our written resources.
  • Collaborating with the Communications Team on the design of outreach materials, website updates, and other program communication needs.
  • Providing ongoing, efficient, and timely administrative support for the EFSP grant program (Emergency Food and Shelter Program). This includes reviewing incoming orders and vendor invoices, logging all information in the grant program tracker, and preparing check-requests.
  • Other duties as identified or assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years of related professional experience in nonprofit program administration, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or 3-5 years equivalent professional experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive work forward and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proactively, both internally and externally.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Required Skills:

  • Effective organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with:
  • Zoom and/or other virtual meeting platforms.
  • SurveyMonkey, Formstack, or other registration and survey platforms.
  • Salesforce, Excel, or other data management and evaluation platforms.
  • Microsoft Office Suite - PPT, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, offering ideas and solutions to obstacles.

Nice to have:

  • Finds genuine enjoyment in data management, spreadsheets, and detail-oriented work.
  • Prior experience in the field of adult-learning and/or staff development.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, people-centered, and equity-driven approaches to capacity building and service delivery.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Strong desire to work on behalf of nonprofit and faith-based organizations across NYC.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

As part of building a culture where employs can do their best work, FPWA currently employs a hybrid model. Employees are in-office twice per week and senior leadership is in-office three times per week. We observe a company-wide remote day on Fridays.

Work performed by this role is expected to happen in or near New York, NY given FPWA's work policies and practices.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
