Internationally known for its fine wines, exciting restaurants, and world-class resorts, Napa County (pop. 142,000) is currently recruiting for a Communications and Public Information Officer (CPIO). The CPIO will play a pivotal role in assuring the essential dissemination of information to Napa County’s community as well as its partners and stakeholders. Working closely with the County Executive Officer, Elected Officials, Department Heads, and staff throughout Napa County, the CPIO plays a key role in the development of strategy, implementation, and maintenance of the County’s public information, social media, and community engagement activities. The CPIO must have 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the implementation and management of a comprehensive communication program including public and press relations, social media, and internal and external communication. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or public administration is required. An advanced degree is desirable.

The annual salary for the position of Communications and Public Information Officer is $95,659 to $116,313 based on experience. The County provides an excellent benefits package, including CalPERS retirement.
