The We Are Home campaign is a groundbreaking nationwide multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational coalition calling on the Biden administration and Congress to take immediate action to protect millions of immigrants who call this country home and end the cruelty of our interior detention and deportation system.

Our vision for America rejects xenophobia, anti-Blackness, and Islamophobia. We demand a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants and a swift undoing of all of the damage of the last four years. We are committed to building a modern and functional immigration system that recognizes immigrants' humanity and rights, unifies families and ensures that home is truly here for all of us.

Position Description:

The Field Director will work closely with campaign leadership to develop, strategize and lead our field and outreach program. A successful Field Director will coordinate and collaborate with the campaign's field table and partners, build and maintain a strong membership/volunteer database, and will provide recommendations to leadership on virtual and on-the-ground mobilization and outreach strategy. This role will report to the Deputy Campaign Director, and will work to build the grassroots energy infrastructure necessary to implement and meet the campaign’s goals. The Director will need to be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced and innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

The Field Director will report to the Deputy Campaign manager and work directly with coalition members and grassroots partners to implement and support a coordinated field program in service of the We Are Home National Immigration Campaign’s goals. The Field Director will work closely and collaboratively with existing table co-anchors of the campaign. The Field Director will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to:

Work with the Deputy Campaign Director, campaign leadership, and table co-anchors to determine campaign field strategy and goals for specific campaigns.

Ensure that steering committee members are part of strategic planning for legislative and executive action campaigns at both the national and state level.

Work closely with We Are Home Political, Communications, and Digital campaign staff and partner tables to develop overall field strategy and long-term strategic planning.

Work with field table co-chairs to construct a field plan for field operations including the drafting of field budgets, work plans, and overall timeline.

Oversee implementation of field strategy, training plan, and all outreach materials and manage and allocate resources within the field budget.

Manage,develop and train Field Team and partners/allies as needed in outreach, recruiting, and training efforts including the development of staff and volunteer training materials.

Build and maintain connections with field members of coalition tables to assess needs and capacity to streamline resources to support field activities to achieve strategic goals.

Cultivate, build and maintain strategic political relationships with coalition members, grassroots partners, and leaders to align priorities and support and provide guidance to their organizing programs as they work to meet campaign goals.

Collaborate and facilitate communication regularly with field table members, grassroots partners, and stakeholders to ensure their is in-state to national feedback communication of timely information to help shape strategy and impact and regular communication on progress-to-goals.

Support, facilitate and lift up the work of partner groups to drive national political narrative with coalitions, donors, electeds, media, other thought leaders; coordinate activities and national and local press opportunities with coalition partners.

Represent We Are Home with allied coalitions and tables; work with partner campaigns and organizations to amplify impact.

Develop appropriate metrics, benchmarks and accountability systems to ensure that field campaign goals are met.

Track progress to goals, make adjustments, and monitor to ensure success of the field program.

Communicate and prepare regular updates and reports to the Deputy Campaign Director and campaign leadership regarding issues that affect campaign objectives and solutions to remedy.

Perform other duties as necessary or required for the position.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have at least 5-7 years of experience on political or issue advocacy campaigns in a field role.

Demonstrated experience building effective, strong coalitions rooted in equity to achieve policy and/or political aims, particularly in the immigration space or progresisve ecosystem.

Comfortable with building accountable organizational relationships based on mutual trust, performance, and benchmarks.

Knowledge of, and relationships within, local and national immigrant rights organizations and/or the progressive ecosystem.

History of effective relationship building within organizations and with external groups.

Comfortable using and analyzing data to guide campaign decisions.

Proven ability to use outstanding interpersonal, political navigation, and communication skills to build strong relationships and negotiate challenging situations in a friendly and professional way and exercise effective political judgement and discretion.

Highly organized, and highly detail-oriented with strong project management and organization skills; able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.

Experience recruiting, training, and managing staff and demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams.

Self-motivated, independent, willing to work long, flexible hours.

Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists.

Comfortable in a high performing, high-pressure, fast-paced and quickly growing national campaign; demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals, meet deadlines and adapt to rapid response and changing circumstances.

Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.

Strong facilitation and active listening skills, ability to create an inclusive environment and build consensus.

Deep experience living or working in immigrant communities.

Spanish language fluency including written and verbal interpretation.

Brings a deep knowledge of or experience in immigration issues.

Knowledge of, or interest in, dynamics in policy fights at the Executive and Congressional branches of government.

This position reports to: Deputy Campaign Director

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% travel may be required (once safe in light of COVID-19 pandemic)

Position Location: Continental U.S with D.C. area preferred.

Salary & Benefits: We Are Home offers competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Salary range is $80,000-$100,000.
