Overview
ISS STOXX seeks a highly motivated Communications Specialist who will promote online awareness and build recognition of ISS STOXX and its business lines in print and online among the media, industry stakeholders, and capital market participants, broadly. The ideal candidate will embrace open collaboration, possess intellectual curiosity, and help the organization deliver results towards fulfilling our mission. They will enjoy working in a fast-paced yet collegial environment where ideas are welcomed, and everyone is valued for their contributions.
Responsibilities
  • Write and edit press releases, talking points, audio/video scripts and PR materials.
  • Publish and dispatch press releases via ISS STOXX’s site and third-party media relations platform.
  • Track and fulfill media requests for annual meeting, ESG ratings, and other report requests.
  • Monitor and gather press clippings.
  • Prepare internal spokespeople for media interviews, including composing talking points, staffing interviews, and conducting follow-up with reporters.
  • Translate press releases from English to German.
  • Draft, edit, and post content for ISS’ LinkedIn social media accounts.
  • Utilize analytics to boost engagement and followers on all digital platforms, and use metrics to measure success, shifting strategy when necessary.
  • Oversee production of podcasts.
  • Facilitate review process for and track all external speaking engagements.
  • Prepare presentations/reports for staff, media, and clients as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related discipline.
  • Preferred one year or more relevant experience in public relations and/or external communications function, including through challenging internships.
  • Understanding of how to link communications activities to business strategy and goals.
  • Understanding and experience working with social media and other new media technologies.
  • Familiarity with developing multi-media content such as podcasts.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle short-term and long-term tasks/responsibilities on deadline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and establish strong working relationships with key colleagues across ISS’ business lines.
  • Self-motivated, outcome-oriented worker who takes ownership of work product.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates with German language fluency will receive higher consideration.
