From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material and processes. It’s a fascinating field of work. We’re involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property. We lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions. And we work with colleagues across the business to ensure our products always lead the way.

What you’ll achieve

P&O OCTO has the intent of significantly increasing the interaction with the Government across numerous emerging technology fronts. This increased interaction is a foundation to building a vibrant ecosystem for technology initiatives, especially where they are related to policy-sensitive criteria. Government has an extremely wide aperture to technology (civilian through defense) including its economic benefits or impacts, P&O OCTO intends to establish a capability of interaction, influence, and where necessary participation. This newly established role will lead the effort in shaping a comprehensive engagement strategy and execution plan.

You will:

Architect, lead & execute P&O OCTO Government strategy for emerging technologies to create a strategy and plan to identify Government direct funding, relief, or acceleration vehicles in line with Dell priorities.

Lead initiatives of interest and influence which include newly identified and ongoing Government related activities, including developing a 5G / 6G comprehensive plan (SLED) encompassing FCC, NIST, and NTIA policy positions, etc. Security, which includes supply chain (physical) and information security aspects and newly identified research initiatives.

Develop a close partnership with Dell Government Affairs and Government sales. Assist, consult and engage with these teams on the P&O OCTO plan to educate government members about corporate products, services, and technologies. Be the CTO interface and coordination point for RFI or policy inputs.

Be the Dell P&O OCTO interface for new and critical Government relationships. Identify, nurture and engage on key and influential relationships for and in conjunction with P&O OCTO leadership.

Essential Requirements

Expert knowledge of the government arena.

Expert technical knowledge and dynamics of the industry including IT, telecom, and security.

Expert communication and influence capabilities.

Expert analytical and strategic skills.

Desirable Requirements

Has established relationships and working knowledge of government processes.
