Voter Access Director
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) regularly assists campaigns and state parties by seeking applicants for voter access and voter protection roles involved in Senate races. About The Opportunity
Voter Access Directors will build innovative, data-driven statewide plans to address the entire continuum of barriers to casting a ballot. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Identifying key election administration and voter officials, and building and maintaining relationships with key BOE members, elected officials, community leaders and grasstops
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders and administrators
  • Understanding new or updated laws that impact voting access and educating staff, volunteers, and voters on them
  • Overseeing and recruiting voter access volunteers
  • Planning for and overseeing the election observer program
  • Planning for and overseeing the voter protection ballot curing program
Qualifications
Ideal applicants will have three or more cycles experience working on statewide campaigns, preferably in roles on organizing or political teams. Legal experience, including a JD, is not required.
  • 3+ cycles of experience in statewide organizing, political, coalitions or voter protection departments
  • Experience working with VAN; LBJ experience a bonus but not required
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, grasstops, staff, and volunteers
  • Ability to build cohesive plans and oversee implementation
  • Highly communicative – responsive to internal and external requests, emails, and calls, within reason
  • Incredibly organized, with a strong attention to detail
