Currently, British Airways has an exciting opportunity open for an International Communications Executive (Americas).

This position will be based in New York on a hybrid schedule - the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly from our New York office and remotely.

Working in our Corporate Affairs team, you will drive positive awareness of our brand across the Americas market.

What you’ll do:

  • Build engagement through the delivery and evaluation of PR campaigns, events and media coverage.
  • Drive positive media coverage and social media engagement to promote commercial and brand initiatives, regional news and business strategy.
  • Generate ideas that deliver internal and external comms and Government Affairs.
  • Support the delivery of events, media receptions, colleague engagement and press briefings.
  • Support the airline’s global social media strategy, with an eye for trends and the ability to generate ideas for region-specific content to drive awareness and consideration.
  • Day-to-day management of media enquiries, working closely with our Media Relations team to ensure consistent approach.
  • Manage journalist travel requests including raising tickets, liaising with internal partners, managing correspondence with journalists and negotiating coverage.
  • Manage content requirements for PR activity, from writing the brief, to managing the shoot on the day, to delivering the assets in a timely manner.
  • Conduct analysis of PR campaigns; using a range of methods including building coverage reports and communicating results, to highlight impact and shape future activity.

Your experience:

  • Qualification and/or relevant experience in a communications field, such as PR, marketing, social media or internal communications.
  • Strong media relations skills and proven track record of planning and implementing communication initiatives and campaigns.
  • Evidence of communications evaluation.
