Mayor's L.E.A.D. D.C. Internship Program
The Executive Office of the Mayor is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2021 session for the Mayor's Leadership Engagement Achievement, and Development ("L.E.A.D") program offering undergraduates, graduates, and recent graduates the chance to gain valuable work experience in one of our departments. Through agency assignments and weekly development workshops, interns will be able to enhance their skills and learn new skills suitable to working for a government entity. Opportunities are vast and have opened doors to careers in public policy, communications, finance, law, intergovernmental affairs, and government operations.
Qualifications
Ability to commit between 20-35 hours per week
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A keen eye for detail
Willingness to work in a fast paced environment
Interest in public service
Details
The program will begin September 27th and end December 10th. Please only apply if you will be in the D.C. area for those months and can commit this entire time period
We will begin phone screening and interviewing in August for the Fall program
Candidates will be able to provide input into which office they would like to intern (See questions)
Not all offices within the Executive Office of the Mayor will require an intern for the Fall
Interns are able to receive course credit for undergraduate or graduate school if needed.
