Position Summary: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is hiring two Deputy Digital Directors for the Committee’s Independent Expenditure Unit (IE). Deputy Digital Directors will be responsible for overseeing the paid media and digital creative strategy in a number of competitive battleground districts across the country this cycle.
Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing various aspects of the digital strategy in battleground districts, from audience targeting and platform selection to creative production.
- Working closely with the DCCC IE’s media consultants and political team to ensure they have all the latest information relating to a district, including target audience demographics, competitor spending, ad test results, etc.
- Reviewing media plans, scripts, and creatives from consultant teams to ensure districts' needs are met by providing in-depth feedback.
- Monitoring and reporting on ad campaign performance, recommending optimizations as needed.
- Working closely with all members of the Digital department to prioritize tasks, manage tight deadlines, and keep the broader IE staff up to date on product updates and needed approvals.
- Staying up to date on the latest developments in targeted districts, from polling results to new media spending and breaking news, and identifying opportunities for digital tracks.
Requirements
- 2+ cycles, or 4+ years, of political paid digital media experience on behalf of either an agency, campaign, or political organization required
- An understanding of digital media trends, targeting and creative production with the goal of persuasion and mobilization, particularly in political ad campaigns
- Experience running ad tests (Swayable, Brand Lift, etc.) and interpreting the results for a broader audience
- Experience managing a high-volume paid media account or campaign with numerous competing deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways
- Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with staff at all levels
- The following are not required, but please note if you have experience with any of the following:
- Placing media buys through DSPs, working with external digital media vendors, and/or placing buys in social media platforms
- Using transparent ad libraries or other means to track competitor spending and messaging
- Building custom first-party audiences using Targetsmart or another voter file database
- Working with a project management software such as Asana, Monday, or AirTable
