The Office of U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner is hiring two entry level positions with different skill sets. Please read on to learn how to apply for either the Staff Assistant, or the Correspondence Assistant, or both.

Staff Assistant: This position requires a dependable and detail-oriented individual to serve in-person in Senator Warner’s Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include: answering phones, greeting visitors to the office, arranging tours of the Capitol and other Washington tourist sites, overseeing daily intern assignments, and performing other administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Additionally, applicants should work well in a collaborative, fast-paced and dynamic environment. Virginia ties are required. Interested parties should send a cover letter and resume to resumes@warner.senate.gov with the subject line “Staff Assistant”. Please save cover letter and resume in a single file (pdf preferred) and name the file “Last name, First name.” 

Correspondence Assistant (Database Management): This position will work in-person in Senator Warner’s Washington, DC office in a team of three that handles all mail related duties and supports Legislative Correspondents. This position focuses on database management, including creating and maintaining database lists, capturing and organizing constituent contact information from various sources, and generating accurate and timely lists on short notice. Duties also include sorting and responding to certain mail, and occasionally answering constituent phone calls and greeting visitors in the front office. The ideal candidate will enjoy detail-oriented work, organizing information, and spending a considerable amount of time on-screen. Virginia ties strongly encouraged, and experience using Intranet Quorum and database management is a plus. Interested parties should send a cover letter and resume to resumes@warner.senate.gov with the subject line “Correspondence Assistant”. Please save cover letter and resume in a single file (pdf preferred) and name the file “Last name, First name.”
