Your Role


Come join our Global Government Affairs (GGA) team. Our team members are focused on developing and influencing federal, state, local and global policies and regulations that affect Tenable, our customers, and the cybersecurity industry. The GGA intern will be exposed to a full range of government affairs experiences, including researching and tracking legislation, virtually attending Congressional hearings and meetings, preparing memoranda for meetings with Members of Congress and Administration Officials, and supporting activities related to the Tenable Political Action Committee. You will learn all aspects of being an in-house lobbyist at a best-in-breed cybersecurity company. Sound exciting? Join us!


Your Opportunity


  • Participate in GGA strategy discussions regarding Tenable policy priorities and activities
  • Research and track legislation
  • Attend and provide summaries of Congressional hearings
  • Participate in meetings with Congressional staff
  • Participate in meetings with tech trade associations and organizations
  • Prepare background memorandum for meetings with Members of Congress and Administration Officials
  • Assist in preparation of internal and external presentations
  • Manage and update the Global Government Affairs landing page and the Tenable Political Action Committee website with policy and activity updates

What You'll Need


  • Must be a rising junior or senior in university
  • Good attitude and desire to learn
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong work ethic
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Desire to launch a career in government or public policy
  • Public policy education or experience is preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer proficiency – experience using Google platform is preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of accurate work with minimal supervision
