Duties
Serve as the Agency’s technical authority for congressional affairs matters, providing specialized staff advice and assistance regarding relations with Congress.
Serve as the primary congressional liaison with the legislative branch, White House, and national, state, and local political entities fostering awareness of and participation in resolving issues of political significance.
Conduct congressional affairs functions in accordance with procedural and policy guidance of the Director and Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs.
Support and advise DLA Headquarters Elements and Field Activities appropriate to their legislative portfolio.
Point of contact for oral inquiries from Members of Congress, their staff, and congressional defense oversight committees.
Advise DLA leadership on how best to present the Agency and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) position.
Perform budgetary functions and oversees contractual funding obligations.
