Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) is seeking a Foundation Relations Manager to support the mission of the organization by working within the Development Team to manage and expand a portfolio of foundations and help to grow the total grant support for the organization. This is a full-time, exempt position located in Boston with the opportunity for some remote work.


What you’ll do:

Working with the Director of Foundation Relations, the Foundation Relations Manager will:


  • Manage a portfolio of existing foundation funders and seek and cultivate new sources of foundation support to meet identified program needs;
  • Manage the grant process from prospect research to preparation of letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and budgets for timely submission as well as ongoing stewardship of foundations;
  • Prepare briefing memos and background documents for foundation meetings and visits;
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (staff and board members) and external stakeholders (foundation officers, funders, etc.);
  • Coordinate with finance and program staff on grant budgeting, financial reporting, and tracking;
  • Contribute to CLF’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.


What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent professional writing, editing, and communication skills;
  • Excellent coordination, organization, and project management skills, including collaborating with colleagues remotely;
  • Attention to detail and timeliness in responding to requests from prospective donors, partners, and colleagues;
  • High-level of technology literacy with Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), online research, and donor databases (Raiser’s Edge preferred);
  • Commitment to environmental justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion and to CLF’s mission;
  • Willingness to travel within New England.

Salary & Benefits

CLF offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits plan, and an open, inclusive, and accepting work environment where differences are highly respected. The starting salary range for the position is $73,000 - $91,000; actual salary will reflect experience and qualifications
