Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-03), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Appropriations, seeks an organized and highly motivated Legislative Assistant for her Washington, D.C. Office to manage trade, national security, defense, and other issues. The Legislative Assistant will formulate and execute on all legislative matters in their assigned issue areas, to include staffing and preparing the Congresswoman for meetings and events; preparing statements and briefing materials; drafting and tracking legislation; staffing hearings and markups and managing her relevant Appropriations priorities; managing the Congresswoman’s House Trade Working Group; and meeting with stakeholders. Well-qualified candidates for this position will have prior experience working on Capitol Hill, demonstrated collaborative skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong work ethic. This is not an entry-level position.
