As Communications Manager, Air Manufacturing Innovation (Air MI), you are an important member of the Nike’s Global Operations Team (GOT). In this role, you will run the communication strategy and execution for the facilities that manufacture innovative and proprietary components of Nike’s footwear. The role is based in Beaverton, OR.

This role will create strategic communications plans and drive communications delivery focused on experiences and moments that matter to inspire and engage employees as part of our commitment to world-class responsiveness. As needed, the role will also support implementation of global GOT initiatives and recognition programs.

Responsibilities to include:

• Develop highly innovative and targeted communications, messages and experiences for product innovation and modern manufacturing strategies.

• Implement long-range planning and create processes that drive efficiencies in tactical delivery within an environment with varied access to communications.

• Create plans, track timelines and manage a project-based budget. Manage internal and external approval processes.

• Partner with media relations, government affairs and corporate communications teams to engage external audiences where appropriate.

• Develop and deliver engaging content and deliver messages through a variety of channels including, but not limited to, video, infographics and written content with a test and learn mindset to optimally connect with and engage employees.

• Partner with Comms Director to develop a narrative and editorial calendar that elevates the voice of Air MI across NIKE, Inc.

• Create repeatable storytelling series, content and events to engage Nike employees.

• Partner with the GOT Communications team members to build and execute global moments that drive the business through inspirational employee engagement.

• Build credible stakeholder relationships required to become a trusted partner of the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, English, Communications or related discipline

• 5+ years professional experience in a high-profile corporate communications role, supporting globally branded organizations preferred

• 2 additional years experience in lieu of a degree

• Excellent communications planning, writing and editing skills combined with speed, flexibility, and attention to detail

• Ability to develop communications that engage across multiple platforms (i.e. intranet, video, digital newsletters, script writing, presentations etc.)

• Proven ability to communicate plans and work collaboratively across a complex matrix on a corporate, geo, territory and functional basis

• Demonstrated experience in working effectively with senior-level management and ability to provide guidance and direction to peers

• Ability to travel, 10 - 15%

Preferred:

• Knowledge of sports culture, footwear or apparel industry

• Experience in both internal and external communications

• Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develop effective responses, or elevate to higher management
