CMW Strategies, is a full service strategy and government relations firm established in New York City more than 30 years ago. CMW is a “top ten” lobbying firm and has been featured as a “go-to public affairs firm” in City and State’s Power 100 issues for the past five years. The New York Times, Crain’s New York Business, and the Real Deal have highlighted our influence and expertise in New York.
CMW is seeking an energetic self-starter intern to join our firm for the fall semester. In this position, you will learn firsthand how we interact in a government relations capacity with city and state government on behalf of our clients. This is a great opportunity for students interested in government, politics, and getting more involved in the legislative process.
Candidates must be located in the New York City metro area.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities
Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic company information.
Observe City Council Hearings and prepare memos for clients.
Draft testimony and research reports for clients.
Attend client meetings and events with firm principals.
Manage and organize databases and internal contact lists.
Update and post social media content to platforms such as LinkedIn.
Conduct research as needed for client issues.
Intern Requirements and Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-directed and able to work without direct supervision.
Eager to learn and tackle new projects and ideas.
Minimum of 15 hours per week required.
