Job Description
The Vindman team is seeking a dedicated and experienced videographer to join our dynamic staff. You will be leading the creative process and video production from inception to completion. You will build the Congressman’s brand on all online platforms, namely YouTube and Instagram. You will play a critical role in communicating the Congressman’s vision and priorities to core audiences and stakeholders. The position is based in Washington, DC with frequent travel to the Seventh District.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Join Congressman Vindman at events both in the Seventh District and on Capitol Hill to capture b-roll, short form videos, direct-to-camera opportunities, and voice over footage.
● Ideate, edit, polish, and post short form videos with the goal of two per platform per day.
● Strategize and implement video strategy in collaboration with the Communications Director and Chief of Staff to best execute on social media campaigns, engage influencers, and build on an already thriving online brand.
● Create toolkits and amplification guides for partners.
● Assist with the office’s franked digital program, ensuring all digital media assets are strategic, thoughtful, and effective.
● Bring new ideas to the table for video and social media strategy based on current trends and breaking news.
● Build and maintain relationships with the internal team.
Required Qualifications:
● Fully advanced in Adobe Creative Cloud apps or similar editing software.
● An impressive portfolio of video work with successful footage ranging from 4 seconds to 2 minutes long.
● Creative vision.
● Expertly manage a high volume of projects with tight turnaround and zero ego.
● Able to drive multiple times per week with the Congressman to and from the Seventh District.
● Experience with livestreaming, aftereffects, audio editing, and similar skills.
● Be a team player with a can-do attitude.
● Quick, clean writer with a skill for tone and timing is a plus.
● Energized by a team that moves quickly and expects excellence.
● Comfortable with feedback and the occasional quick content turnaround.
● Ties to Virginia are a plus.
● Experience with a candidate, elected leader, or similar principal is a plus.
