Job Description
FoodCorps seeks a motivated, strategic revenue leader to harness the full impact of philanthropy as a vehicle for justice through the development and implementation of philanthropic partnerships that advance health and educational equity. This is a remote position that is located in either the Southern or Midwest regions of the United States and reports directly to the Chief External Relations Officer. This individual will hold oversight and responsibility for leading and building FoodCorps’ Regional Philanthropy Team, and will work closely with members of our External Relations department and a cross-organizational team including policy, marketing, and communications, and impact staff to leverage and grow individual, foundation, and corporate support over FoodCorps’ four regions.

You are committed to FoodCorps’ mission and eager to share our story with prospective supporters, communicating the impact of our work while also honoring the experiences of the individuals and communities with which FoodCorps works. You have extensive major gift fundraising experience across individual, foundation, or corporate funders and are confident with a range of audiences. You are highly relational, have experience soliciting and closing six-figure gifts, and are skilled at identifying mission-aligned relationships. You have experience building investments from and relationships with philanthropists who hold a mutual responsibility toward justice and equity. You work best in a collaborative, team environment and lead with an equity mentality, demonstrate managerial courage, and lean into learning. You have an ability and ease with which you counsel partners and internal teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads a nationwide team of regional fundraisers committed to aligned, mission-transforming, and mutually beneficial philanthropic relationships.
- Sets the vision and strategy for FoodCorps’ regional revenue strategy from individual, corporate, and foundation funders, to ensure FoodCorps' financial health; elevates revenue development to its full potential, and aligns it with FoodCorps’ mission, values, and identity. Holds overall responsibility for the health of the regional funding portfolio.
- Develops the annual plan, budget, key goals and objectives, and metrics for the regional fundraising program.
- Hires, coaches, and leads a team of major gift level fundraisers capable of working across a diversity of revenue streams and committed to effective partnership, collaboration, and innovation.
- Leads a portfolio of funders, with a primary focus on either the South or Midwest (dependent on location). Identifies prospects, develops annual and long-term strategies, and pursues and stewards funding relationships. Holds ultimate responsibility – alongside their team -- for closing annual revenue with a baseline expectation for annual revenue of $6m.
- Develops and maintains strong donor relationships and puts in place strong donor engagement plans. Virtually and in person, directs and leads donor meetings. Navigates funder meetings as a solo fundraiser and in partnership with leadership and program staff.
- Across FoodCorps, furthers an organization that respects the value of philanthropy. Builds a shared responsibility across FoodCorps for revenue development by providing strong leadership, ongoing mentorship, strategic support, and coaching.
