Job Description
Congresswoman Kelly Morrison (D-MN-03) is seeking a press intern for Fall 2025 in her Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will be reliable, creative, and detail-oriented, with strong communication and writing skills. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a congressional press operation and learn about digital media, messaging, and the legislative process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring media coverage and tracking press related to the Congresswoman and her work
- Assisting with drafting press releases, newsletters, and social media content
- Creating graphics and assisting with video editing
- Compiling press lists and supporting media outreach efforts
- Other communications-related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and research skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital media trends
- Experience with graphic design tools (such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Minnesota ties and prior experience in a professional setting are preferred
Hours & Compensation:
The internship runs from early September to early December, with flexible hours to accommodate academic schedules. A stipend and/or academic credit will be provided.
