Job Description
The Office of Representative Val Hoyle (OR-04) is hiring for a Press Intern (Summer 2025) to work in her Washington, D.C. office. This is a paid internship. The summer internship will span May to early September but start/end dates are flexible based on semester schedule. Full time interns will work 9-5, Monday-Friday.
The Press Intern will work closely with a highly productive and fast-paced communications team.
Responsibilities and educational opportunities will include:
- Compiling daily news clips;
- Assisting in drafting press releases and other written materials;
- Assisting in drafting social media content, including creating graphics and editing video content;
- Helping to maintain press lists;
- Clipping committee remarks and cable hits;
- Answering phones; and,
- Leading tours of the U.S. Capitol.
The ideal applicant will have a strong interest in political communications and have strong writing skills. Previous video editing and graphic creation experience a plus, but not required – we can teach you!
