Base salary: 52,000

The Office of Congresswoman Angie Craig (MN-02) seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated self-starter to serve as a Staff Assistant / Scheduler in her Washington, DC office.

Staff Assistant responsibilities will include managing front office operations, logging phone calls, greeting visitors, handling tour and flag requests, drafting constituent correspondence, maintaining inventories and receipts, coordinating the office’s internship program, providing administrative support to the team, and additional duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Additionally, this person will help the Director of Operations with scheduling responsibilities and will fully take on those responsibilities in addition to the staff assistant duties in July of 2022. The scheduling responsibilities will include managing the Congresswoman’s official calendar of events in DC and in the district, processing incoming scheduling requests, organizing event logistics with district staff and outside stakeholders, coordinating and booking travel, communicating key information about the Congresswoman’s schedule to staff, and working closely with the Congresswoman and all staff to ensure smooth daily office operations. These responsibilities will require some availability to assist the Congresswoman outside of regular business hours.

Candidates should have exceptional organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to public service. Previous Capitol Hill experience or scheduling experience is preferred. Minnesota ties are also a plus. 

The starting salary for this position is $52,000 annually, with the potential for a higher salary based upon experience.
