Job Description
The Statewide Field Director is the senior leader responsible for managing and executing the full-scale, multi-region campaign tour across California. This individual will oversee all field operations, regional staff, volunteer deployment, logistics, signature collection efforts, and real-time problem solving throughout the initiative’s active tour period (May–July 2025). This is a high-energy, fast-paced role that requires leadership, logistics mastery, and excellent communication skills.
- Oversee all campaign tour activities across four regions: San Diego, Los Angeles, Central California, and Northern California
- Ensure event setup, staff coordination, and community engagement efforts run smoothly on-site each day
- Travel to all tour stops with the core campaign team, acting as the ground commander for daily operations
- Directly manage Regional Leads, City Captains, and event production teams
- Assign and oversee volunteer teams (intake, training, deployment)
- Serve as liaison between leadership and field operations
- Implement and enforce signature tracking protocols (daily goals, validation, backups)
- Ensure equipment and materials (iPads, clipboards, QR banners) are deployed and returned
- Report daily progress to CEO and campaign leadership
- Coordinate transportation, lodging, food, and gear for core team
- Manage day-to-day schedules and ensure transitions between cities/venues are efficient
- Respond quickly to disruptions (venue changes, protest activity, weather delays, etc.)
- Coordinate with media and communications teams to ensure proper on-site coverage
- Prepare event sites for appearances by Marcus Ruiz, Jason Wright, and other VIPs
- Ensure all events are visually branded and documented
- 5+ years experience in campaign field operations, large-scale event production, or community organizing
- Proven success managing teams of 20+ people across multiple locations
- Excellent logistical skills and ability to thrive in high-pressure, mobile environments
- Strong understanding of California’s geography, culture, and political landscape
- Ability to communicate clearly with top leadership, vendors, and volunteers
- Willingness to travel extensively and work long hours, including weekends
- Experience with mobile CRM software (e.g., NationBuilder, EveryAction)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other California community languages)
- Previous involvement in issue-based or political campaigns
- Familiarity with media or influencer coordination
- Full travel expenses (lodging, per diem, transportation)
- Campaign-issued equipment and communications support
- Leadership access and high-profile campaign experience
- A pivotal role in California’s movement toward sovereignty and self-determination
