This is a temporary remote position for Raytheon Technologies for an undetermined length

Job Description:

In this role s/he work closely with the RI&S Communications senior leadership team and other senior leaders and subject matter experts to develop and produce compelling executive-level content for both internal and external audiences. The position will serve as a trusted communications adviser, analyzing situations/challenges, identifying gaps/opportunities, providing recommended courses of action, and developing and executing effective communications in support of business priorities. The ideal candidate is a creative, driven and enthusiastic communicator who can produce written and visual storytelling content quickly with minimal oversight and editing, cut through jargon, align to strategy, and find new ways to insert our executives into industry conversations.

Develop strong relationships with our senior leaders and communications subject matter experts across the business to identify and develop executive content, including speeches, aligned to RI&S strategy and priorities

Elevate Leadership's internal and external messaging to help them connect in a meaningful, and memorable way

Although the written word will be a primary vehicle for messaging, s/he will also have visual storytelling capabilities to help bring messaging alive in video, presentations, and through imagery

Draft routine executive communications such as town hall and video scripts and presentations, introductions, employee messages (ie key business announcements and Memorial Day messages, etc.)

Develop targeted executive communications plan with both internal and external engagements and metrics for success

Engage with industry groups and influencers to best position our executives as thought leaders

Partner with executive events team for executive engagement events

Maintain the executive communications editorial calendar

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications with 8+ years of work experience

Exceptional written, verbal and social communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Ability to use data for rhetorical impact

Proven ability to balance and deliver on multiple projects

Proven record of effective telecommuting arrangements

Capable of visual storytelling and message simplification

Strong understanding of Associated Press writing style

Additional Skills:

Attention to detail and a sense of urgency, strong work ethic and positive attitude

Ability to adapt tone and style of communications to suit different specialized and general audiences

Strong executive presence and ability to understand executive voice

Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines

Demonstrated agility and adaptability to changes in direction

Desired Skills:

Experience working in a deadline-driven environment

Experience working with senior level executives

Experience with speechwriting

Self-starter with a natural curiosity to investigate details and drive deliverables to completion

Experience communicating to a geographically diverse employee population, including non-desk and/or non-intranet connected employees

Knowledge of, and experience in, the aerospace and defense industry

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications

Desired Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications with 8+ years of work experience

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
