Job Description

Conservative Public Relations and Research firm seeks applicants for our vetting team. This fast-paced position serves as an internal watchdog for our clients, including prominent conservative political campaigns, non-profits, and advocacy groups. Our analysts review individuals and organizations using open-source information to identify potential political liabilities and risks, alerting our clients before they become a problem. Candidates must be self-driven, team players, and have a strong work ethic. Experience in conservative political research, political campaigns, public affairs, or on Capitol Hill are a plus.

Responsibilities:  

  • Conducting background research on individuals and organizations to gather information on their political beliefs, history, and past actions 
  • Investigating elected officials and candidates to document corruption, conflicts of interest, ethics violations, and even illegal activity  
  • Searching domestic and international public records, including financial databases, campaign finance records, legislative records, and federal and county-level court records  
  • Reviewing social media, news articles, and other publicly reported information 

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Desire or proven experience working to further conservative causes, candidates, and policies 
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and concisely summarize research into written content for both internal and external use 
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately identify politically relevant information and news content
  • A strong interest in politics and a finger on the pulse of relevant political issues and events 
  • The ability to quickly and efficiently handle time-sensitive requests under tight deadlines 
  • Familiarity and experience with social media and relevant monitoring platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube 

Desirable Experience  

  • Familiarity business records, personal financial disclosures, fundraising records, FOIA requests, tax filings, or other investigative areas
  • Experience navigating political databases and other research tools such as LexisNexis, PACER, CourtLink, GuideStar, FEC records, Congress.gov and legislative records, and other public records 
  • Experience in political communications or research, including on Capitol Hill, in journalism, public relations, marketing, or at an NGO
  • Experience working on as part of a political campaign’s or committee’s research team 

This is a hybrid-work position. Candidates are expected to be in-office three days a week, with work-from-home options on Mondays and Fridays. Salary is commensurate with experience.
