BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Program Manager is a member of the Advocacy team reporting directly to the Chief Global Advocacy Officer. This role will collaborate and partner closely with all four pillars of the JDRF Advocacy team (Government Relations, Grassroots Advocacy, Heath Policy & Regulatory Affairs) and other key stakeholders. The Program Manager will support the tactical execution of Advocacy project and program management. The Program Manager will play a critical role in driving and supporting strategic organizational initiatives, championing a culture of joint accountability for Advocacy goals, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration to advance JDRF’s mission.
This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to develop new processes, insightful strategic thinking, a drive for continuous learning, and a collaborative spirit to assist high-performing team. The Program Manager must be adaptable to change, flexible with performing diverse tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Bridge cross-functional roles to enable collaborative decision-making and stakeholder engagement both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Chief Global Advocacy Officer and key Advocacy team members in executing JDRF Advocacy’s mission and organizational goals.
  • Support strategic activities that include the development and tracking of Advocacy roadmaps, goals, and milestones.
  • Prepare Chief Global Advocacy Officer and Advocacy team leadership for meetings and engagements by developing meeting agendas, drafting minutes, presentation slides, and tracking the execution of action items.
  • Participate in sourcing, developing and implementing tools that enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication and ensure information flow across the Advocacy team
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare, government relations, public policy, or project management
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in business, public health or related field preferred.
  • While a deep scientific knowledge of autoimmune diseases or diabetes is not required, the individual must be able to support activities related to the JDRF Advocacy mission.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Expertise in developing and preparing presentations, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to being responsive and proactive.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build trusted relationships and maintain positive working relationships across the organization.
  • Work independently and with professional discretion.
  • Integrity: Demonstrated ability to confidentially handle sensitive or private information or materials.
  • Travel requirement: 10% to 15%
Target Salary: $80-90k
