The Public Affairs Event Manager will build connections with Isaiah House and the communities it serves across Kentucky by engaging with communities and their centers of influence. This person will be charged with brainstorming potential partnerships or methods of engagement and manage a calendar of key community events. The position will also be tasked with oversight of key internal events such as graduation, ribbon cuttings, etc. Evenings and weekends are required.

  • Schedules and coordinates details of internal and external events for Isaiah House including conferences, graduations, annual banquet, grand openings, open houses, information booths, employee appreciation activities, family programs, and other special events.
  • Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of events including schedules, speakers, venues, music/entertainment, sponsorships, invitations, reminder calls, merchandise sales, arranging for setups, supervising event labor and other activities required for successful events.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all Isaiah House staff, community leaders, press and a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Develop and implement outreach activities, campaigns, and strategies to increase community awareness and engagement with Isaiah House
  • Organize, attend, and participate in special events and promotions advocating for substance use disorder treatment and Isaiah House
  • Identify relevant trends and market opportunities to create marketing materials to support public relations and marketing strategies
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with individual and group members of the general public and community partners.
  • Attend weekly meetings with external affairs team and provide detailed updates on outreach and internal events.
Requirements:
  • Experience with community building and outreach, and event planning.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Past work with diverse members of the community, local and state government, volunteers, and staff.
  • Demonstrated excellent organization, prioritization, and project management skills
