Policy Analyst, Mid

The Opportunity:

As a Policy Analyst, you’ll bring your significant expertise in sector-specific fabrication and manufacturing techniques; experience developing tooling, coordinating with vendors, and sourcing materials to enable creation of prototypes in coordination with hardware engineering teams.

You will you use your background to collaborate with thought leaders in engineering, science, and industrial manufacturing. You’ll use your skills as you research, develop, analyze, assess, and support Department of Defense Industrial Base efforts. Work with us to study the creation of a policy management strategy to help enhance the ability of the Industrial Baes Policy (IBP) to strengthen and maintain a Defense Industrial Base. You’ll help develop policy for the client by bringing in-depth understanding and expertise to one or more aspects of service or joint missions, processes, and culture. You will analyze laws and executive orders and DoD directives, instructions, and decisions to determine the impact on U.S. military programs and efforts. You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a policy analyst supporting the DoD, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, or Military Services

  • Experience with researching and evaluating reports from private and public organizations dedicated to defense studies

  • Experience with conducting research and analysis and contributing to the coordination of strategy or doctrine for military operations

  • Experience with analyzing laws, executive orders, regulations, and DoD directives, instructions, or manuals

  • Experience with analyzing DoD policies, including directives, instructions, or manuals

  • Experience in coordinating with DoD, Joint Staff, Military Departments, Combatant Commands, Interagency, or Allies and International Partners to analyze strategy, plans, and policies

  • Experience with analyzing policies related to protecting civilians from harm in connection with military operations in conflict zones

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense clients

  • Experience with Tableau or other Data Visualization tools and suites

  • Knowledge of Department of Defense industry policy regulations

  • Ability to be a self-starter and to provide input to high-quality deliverables with minimal direct oversight. Experience in analyzing strategies and policies with a future focus that guides the activities of an organization and incorporates the vision and long-term goals of leadership

  • Ability to develop background papers, talking points, reports, and briefings suitable for all levels of leadership

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently with minimal guidance

  • Possession of excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Top Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
