The Global Health Technologies Coalition (GHTC) is a coalition of 45 nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, and aligned businesses advancing policies to accelerate the creation of new drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, and other tools that bring healthy lives within reach for all people.
GHTC is seeking a Multilateral Policy and Advocacy Associate to assist in policy research and the execution of advocacy strategies to influence multilateral policy related to global health research and development (R&D). The Multilateral Policy and Advocacy Associate will report to the Senior Multilateral Policy & Advocacy Officer and work closely with the GHTC secretariat team on tasks spanning the entire scope of the GHTC’s objectives and operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on topics related to multilateral policy that drives research and development (R&D) and other related global health policies. Generate content for policy position briefs, reports, and other communications materials, in partnership with GHTC’s Senior Multilateral Officer, communications lead, and Executive Director.
  • Monitor and analyze policy and financing developments relating to R&D of new global health technologies and advise on linkages to GHTC’s policy advocacy agenda.
  • Draft memos and leadership briefing notes as relevant to specific policy issues.
  • Work alongside GHTC’s Senior Multilateral Officer to represent the coalition and support GHTC activities within other advocacy coalitions, helping serve as potential project lead in strategic processes with partners.
  • Update and maintain country data for a tool, created under the auspices of the Global Health Security Agenda R&D Working Group, that was designed to assess country R&D capacity, and help develop related analyses and communication materials for dissemination to relevant stakeholders.
  • Design and support collaborations with coalition members and external technical and policy experts. Solicit and collate technical expertise and viewpoints on relevant policy issues.
  • Assist in the operations and management of other GHTC meetings including for GHTC full coalition meetings, Multilateral Policy Working Group Meetings, annual member summit, external events; and participate in other coalition meetings and follow up on action items related to policy priorities.
  • Opportunity to help manage and help lead activities of the Equity Working Group.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in related field, ideally in some combination of technical and policy roles required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, business, or public health preferred.
  • Previous experience working for relevant government agency, advocacy-focused organization, or multilateral institution preferred.
  • Proficiency in data aggregation and data visualization platforms such as Tableau preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent research and policy analysis skills, ideally related to global public health.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work with a variety of work styles and personalities.
  • Demonstrated success working effectively while under deadlines.
  • Ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors. PATH provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes 15 vacation, 11 holiday, 2 personal and 12 sick days per year; medical and dental plans; life insurance; disability and retirement benefits. Hybrid Work
PATH operates within a hybrid workplace model unless otherwise noted. Hybrid employees must reside within commuting distance to one of our PATH offices. PATH’s US offices are located in Seattle, WA and Washington, DC. Fully remote candidates will be considered.
