Development Associate


The Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting the Development Director in carrying out fundraising initiatives to sustain and enhance the mission of Trust Women. This position reports to the Development Director and works collaboratively and strategically with all TW staff. The Development Associate provides research, database management and administrative support to the Development Program.


Trust Women opens clinics that provide abortion care in underserved communities so that all women can make their own decisions about their health care. This is a full-time position, with additional weekend and evening hours as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on prospects, including individuals, corporations and foundations identified as potential sources of private funds for specific projects for Trust Women. In addition, conduct ongoing research in business, philanthropy and related fields to identify potential donors and sources of donor information.
  • Maintain donor database entering data on a timely basis. Prepare a variety of reports for prospect and donor tracking purposes.

·        Manage effective systems for tracking and cultivating contributors through the database.

·        Assist with coordination of events.

·        Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.

·        Follow up with donors.

·        Provide direct development support staffing to the Development Director.

·        Prepare mass mailings and other donor communications for distribution.

·        Perform other development duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work independently or in a team environment on a project.
  • Eagerness to meet and exceed objectives and take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office, database and administrative skills. Every Action experience a plus, but not required.

·        Excellent attention to detail and follow through as demonstrated through effective project management experience. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

·        Ability to see broad picture of women’s rights while implementing the nuts and bolts of an organization.

·        People skills to reach and relate to a broad spectrum and cross-section of potential contributors.
