CCIA seeks an economist, empirical social scientist, or data scientist with a strong interest in the digital economy and technology policy to support the association’s Research Center. This position will report to the Chief Economist/Director of the Research Center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting in-house economic research
  • Managing research projects conducted by third-party economists and researchers
  • Designing and administering surveys of stakeholders, consumers, and digital economy and technology firms
  • Contributing to the design and drafting of recurring research center publications such as an annual factbook
  • Drafting blog posts on public policy topics from an economic angle
  • Reviewing and editing Research Center reports, documents, and rollout materials
  • Coordinating with CCIA’s communications team on rollout for research products and publications
  • Attending weekly, in-person staff meetings

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, data science, or empirical social science and at least three years of relevant work experience in economic or quantitative research, including in consulting, academic, think tank, government, or similar environments.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Knowledge of the technology sector, the digital economy and U.S. political dynamics
  • Experience designing and administering surveys pursuant to quantitative research
  • Familiarity using Excel and programming languages for statistical computing such as R
  • Experience managing quantitative research projects in a consulting, academic, think tank, government or similar environment
  • An advanced degree such as an M.Sc. in economics or another quantitative social science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience drafting reports, studies, or other publications for a professional audience

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
