Job Description
The Central Family Life Center is seeking a Programming Manager member to join our organization. The Programming Manager plays a key leadership role in shaping and scaling impactful programs in collaboration with our partner organizations. We seek a highly organized, energetic, and creative individual with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, support capacity-building, and ensure program alignment with CFLC’s mission and vision. This role requires a dynamic professional who can design and deliver training and technical assistance, consult on program challenges, develop tools and strategies that amplify the reach and effectiveness of our work, and ensure all programming remains in compliance with funder expectations and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate must be able to ensure full adherence to program scopes of work and monitor, track, and document progress toward program deliverables and outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The programming manager supervises, direct trainings, and provides technical assistance activities to our program managers, key leaders, and members of our diverse teams, helping lead projects with the managers and community organizations across the borough. The Programming manager’s tasks include but are not limited to:
· Train Managers and others in leadership positions to work effectively in their roles.
· Ensure the organization meets all programmatic responsibilities, contractual obligations, and deliverables outlined in the approved workshops.
· Develop and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, faith institutions, funders, City/State officials, stakeholders, and other public sector collaborators.
· Monitor the progress and completion of work plans, including managing timelines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with DYCD and other funding requirements.
· Supervise and support a team of Program Managers, Trainers, and Facilitators, ensuring high-quality service and alignment with organizational goals.
· Overseeing program models, deliverables, data, and troubleshooting.
· Track program outcomes and assist in preparing evaluation and grant reports.
- Work with the Executive Director to drive organizational development, including planning and implementing priorities, partnerships, and infrastructure needs.
· Help the organization adapt and scale the model for our local communities and participants.
- Work with program managers to develop and achieve short and long-term programmatic goals.
- Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the different departments
· Consult with program managers and E.D. to troubleshoot challenges and improve performance.
· Support strategic planning and organizational development in collaboration with the leadership team.
· Conduct evaluation of program managers and others in leadership positions.
· Organize and promote shared learning and networking events.
· Organize and supervise fundraisers to improve and increase the Center’s unrestricted funds.
· Assist and collaborate in the development of a data collection system.
· Other tasks directed by the Executive Director
Qualification:
· Master’s Degree or Equivalent in relevant field preferred or equivalent work experience required.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and sustain a wide range of relationships across multiple levels of leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop staff and teams.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in education, development, or workforce development; relevant experience should include developing project-based experiences, service-learning projects, in-class workforce development experiences, worksite development, and/or providing career coaching and counseling.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in content and/or program development.
· Minimum of 4 years of supervisory project management experience.
· Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple teaching teams and site locations.
· Ability to thrive in a dynamic organization where flexibility and entrepreneurial thinking are valued.
· Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
· Willing and able to take initiative and engage in active problem-solving
· Ability to work a flexible schedule.
· Proficient use of Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and GSuite platforms.
· Passion for improving the lives of low-income individuals.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience using program management software and reporting tools.
· Knowledge of DYCD-funded initiatives or similar public funding environments.
· Background in family development, youth services, reentry, or community-based programming.
· Experience with public or foundation-funded programs and familiarity with reporting processes and compliance expectations.
· Familiarity with Staten Island communities and New York City service systems is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Primary Location: (In office) Multiple locations in Staten Island
- Occasional meetings with the city funders, foundations, stakeholders’ officials, other.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
