IE Operations Director

Washington, DC – Independent Expenditure – Operations /Full-Time, Cycle Based/ On-Site


House Majority PAC is an organization designed to hold Republicans accountable and help elect more House Democrats. House Majority PAC is committed to building a long-term organization that can take on the Republican outside groups in the battle for the House Majority.


Working closely with HMP’s IE Director, CFO, Deputy IE Director, and the broader IE team, the IE Operations Director helps oversee the IE program’s FEC reporting, human resources, and office management functions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing compliance with FEC reporting, in particular with monthly FEC reports and 24- and 48-hour independent expenditure reports and other financial filings 
  • Tracking Independent expenditure products, buys, approval process, and reporting details
  • Ensuring payment of services for consultants and vendors
  • Maintaining the political budget and approved spending authority for IE program
  • Training IE staff on internal approval processes and standardization 
  • Working with allied groups on joint operations/commitments when joint projects occur as well as with in-kinds when appropriate
  • Managing the office inventory of supplies, IT equipment and support 
  • Managing IE intern program and operations support staff
  • Assisting the IE Director, Deputy IE Director, and CFO with special projects as needed and as time permits


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting Democratic values and causes
  • BA/BS degree and/or four or more years experience working in operations; Experience with FEC reporting and/or creating and maintaining a budget is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in federal campaigns, IE’s, nonprofits, and/or the U.S. House of Representatives is a plus, but not required
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities; ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change; experience managing and adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Impeccable assertiveness, as well as discretion and diplomacy in handling confidential and sensitive issues
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Solid verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong and demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office suite, (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Prior experience working with NGP, QuickBase, QuickBooks, a plus
  • Sense of humor, ability to have fun, and an interest in working within a high-performing team environment


Starting at $105,000 annualized, commensurate with experience
