Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Community Relations Manager who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?


Summary: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Community Relations Manager who will primarily be responsible for aiding the Vice President of Government and External Relations with coordinating developing and maintaining relationships with key community stakeholders. The Community Relations Manager plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining positive relationships between Axiom Space and the Texas community, including both community stakeholders and members of the State of Texas legislative and executive branches, as well as members of the Congressional Texas delegation and their local staff when present in their home offices. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of community dynamics and engagement strategies. The Community Relations Manager will be responsible for fostering collaboration, managing outreach programs, and implementing initiatives that enhance the organization's reputation and community impact. This position will be located at Axiom Space Headquarters in Houston, TX.


Duties & Responsibilities:

The Community Relations Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Axiom Space Government Relations team in fostering relationships with state and local elected officials, community interest organizations, and external stakeholders in the Houston region and Texas more broadly. Essential duties include:

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to enhance Axiom Space’s relationships with key stakeholders in Houston and the broader Texas community.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community organizations, state and local government agencies, and other external partners to foster collaboration and maximize community impact.
  • Plan, organize, and execute community outreach programs, events, and initiatives to promote Axiom Space mission and values.
  • Lobby local and state government institutions for favorable policy outcomes that further develop and support Axiom Space mission and values.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify community needs, concerns, and trends, and provide recommendations for program development and improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment of community relations efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a network of community leaders, influencers, and organizations to support Axiom Space initiatives and enhance its reputation.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of community relations activities, and prepare reports and presentations to communicate outcomes and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited university; political science, public or business administration, public policy or other closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible professional-level experience with responsibility to analyze and make recommendations to resolve budgetary, legislative, governmental, or other similarly complex problems.

  • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
