Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager, Global People Communications BDEI is a communications strategist who welcomes a dynamic environment that offers the opportunity to make a positive impact at scale. This position is the internal and external audience communications lead for several key belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion pillars across the enterprise. The ideal candidate exudes executive presence and can provide thought leadership in an ever evolving space. This role may be for you if you possess a highly proactive and agile mindset combined with strong horizontal leadership skills.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Building 360 comms plans that engage the more than 2 million Walmart associates worldwide by lifting up their stories and amplifying the work of creating a workplace of inclusion and belonging.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to help deliver a consistent narrative through external-facing reports, site landing pages and media materials to underscore a commitment to DEI transparency.
  • Developing and executing media strategies to strengthen Walmart's reputation and build trust as a competitive advantage; understanding societal trends and current events to identity proactive and reactive public relations opportunities; conducting media pitches; developing content for our Walmart's owned channels; monitoring and analyzing media coverage; and identifying emerging digital and social media channels and content strategies to share our story externally.
  • Providing strategic counsel to senior leaders and building executive communications plans to support culture, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and advance business priorities through communication.
  • Serving as a company spokesperson and developing strong media relationships with national mainstream news, diverse outlets and HR trade publications.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of internal and external corporate communications or public relations experience

Preferred qualifications
  • Issues management and crisis communications experience a plus
  • Experience supporting belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
  • Experience with ESG related reporting, process and communications
