The Summer Associate program is an intensive 10-week training program for young advocates who want to gain exposure to policy advocacy and invest in their personal and professional growth. Through leadership development and experiential learning, we seek to instill participants with the skills, confidence, and social networks to become effective race equity advocates. The Academy was founded in 1996 by a group of civil rights leaders who recognized that social change work is multi-generational; new leaders should be nurtured and trained to continue advocating for equity. Today, the Greenlining Academy Alumni Association is a nation-wide 1000+ member multi-ethnic network of leaders who work together to advance racial equity across diverse sectors.
