The Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) invites applications for Regional Affairs Representative. ACWA is located in the heart of Sacramento, just a few blocks from the State Capitol and the CalEPA building. ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country, a leader on California water issues, and a respected voice for its members in both Sacramento and Washington, D.C. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful association, providing critical support and being an integral part of ACWA’s Member Outreach and Engagement team working with over 450 member agencies.

About the Position

The Regional Affairs Representative is responsible for serving as ACWA’s representative in the field to build and foster relationships in the regions. Regional Affairs Representatives facilitate ACWA’s Region governance and activities and coordinate member retention and recruitment programs and activities. Regional Affairs Representatives are also responsible for implementing ACWA’s grassroots outreach programs throughout the regions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and knowledge of presentation methods and meeting planning. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in government, public relations, marketing, business administration or related field and one year of experience in government relations, public relations or related field, coupled with member relationship and/or client services support within a membership association is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $86,006 – $123,269 per year with salary placement based on qualifications. ACWA offers a competitive benefits package that includes CalPERS retirement, medical insurance, and dental insurance.
