Job Description
Building Pathways, Inc. (BPI) is a Boston-based non-profit organization whose mission is to create access and opportunities for Boston metro area residents, particularly women and people of color, to enter into a career path into the union building trades. Through apprenticeship preparedness training, outreach to young adults, and advocacy, BPI addresses the need to recruit new talent into the industry while opening career pathways to groups that have been historically under-represented in the construction workforce.
The Northeast Center for Tradeswomen’s Equity (NCTE) is BPI’s sister organization, a non-profit dedicated to helping women, and especially women of color, pursue pathways to apprenticeship and find careers in the union building trades. NCTE conducts a statewide recruitment initiative known as the Build A Life That Works campaign to raise awareness among women about career opportunities in the trades; outreach directly to women through community, educational and workplace partners; and advise interested candidates about potential union apprenticeship opportunities.
The shared mission of BPI and NCTE is to bring race and gender diversity, equity and inclusion to the union building trades and to provide career opportunities in the trades for previously under-represented populations.
