This position is responsible for implementation of programs, projects and initiatives with limited supervision on a highly dynamic, collaborative team. Exercises leadership over work, able to leverage opportunities and contribute to team’s development and planning.
What you will do:
- Strategic Vision: Contributes to and implements of team or regional strategy. May lead specific areas of strategic work, especially over a specific content, population or thought area. May develop policies and pilot programs to advance strategic vision.
- Thought Leadership: Provides leadership over assigned portfolio area or through execution of projects and programs. Entrepreneurial and agile in implementation, identifying problems and actively seeking solutions. Able to identify next steps and ways to leverage opportunities within projects and portfolio. Moderate support and coaching to understand new concepts. Connects their work and portfolio to other leaders within CSH to share best practices, innovations, learnings and information.
- Business Development: Contributes to business development efforts by: maintaining relationships with local funders, supporting proposal development and fulfilling reporting requirements. Identifies new opportunities, and cultivates relationships. Manages funding streams through project management.
- Project Management: Manages multi-faceted projects, deliverables for which are often designed by or in collaboration with an Associate Director or Director. Scoping with support and budget management during project coordination. Leads project teams and ensure projects are done on-time, deliverables are met and client/funder rates CSH's work as high performance and high-quality.
- Program Design: Supports and may lead project design or specific elements of larger programs. Manages project staff, budgets and implements policy, program and products. Works toward achieving defined outcomes.
- Program Execution: Accountable for assigned project execution: outcomes and deliverables as assigned; working on time and on budget; collaborating with assigned project partners; quality products and deliverables.
- Systems Change: support the team's advancement of systems change with leadership over specific areas with some coaching and support. Contribute to the planning and execution of near- and long-term strategy.
- Political Acumen: With support, help advance CSH's goals in political environments. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and identify competing interest.
- Technical Assistance and Knowledge: Knowledge and ability to provide technical assistance over defined population areas and supportive housing models, services with coaching and some support needed to deliver TA on systems.
- Financial Management: Responsible for project budgets, ability to understand and track project financials and impact of project financials on larger team and organization.

Specifically, we are seeking:
- The SPM for the Metro Region will oversee the team’s Aging and Health portfolio – managing and developing initiatives in New York State.
- Specific projects under this portfolio include:
- Overdose Prevention in Permanent Supportive Housing – Through a contract with NYU Grossman School of Medicine, CSH will provide technical assistance to a 5-year study where we will develop evidence-based practices on overdose prevention and develop and implementation model serving 20 buildings through NYC and Albany. The primary role of the SPM in this project is to lead the role of practice facilitator, ensuring each building is able to implement best practices through ongoing coaching sessions, TA sessions, and learning collaboratives.
- Aging in in Supportive Housing – the SPM will oversee our “Aging in Supportive Housing” projects to develop best models to support providers serving older adult in helping their tenants age in place. This work includes direct technical assistance to supportive housing providers, training, relationship building between the health, aging, and housing sectors, and developing policy and advocacy for older adults across NYS.
- Health and Housing Integration – the SPM will support implementation of the 1115 waiver (pending) in NYS ensuring that supportive housing providers are equipped to work with the healthcare sector and support hospital-housing initiatives through technical assistance, training, and relationship building.
- The SPM may also support NJ and Pennsylvania projects as needed sharing their health/aging content expertise
- The SPM will support on additional projects as needed such a justice and housing portfolio, NYC coordinated entry, RACE Initiative, and other funded projects in NYS.
- 5+ years of experience working in the field of supportive housing, affordable housing, healthcare, and/or community development. Experience within the healthcare sector is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
- Previous project management experience with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to manage project teams, project budgets and deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience in providing technical assistance/consulting services to diverse stakeholders including government, and experience and familiarity with permanent, affordable housing and services models for vulnerable populations including chronically homeless.
- Experience with colleagues and external audiences and partners in the areas of public policy, systems change, housing development/operations, and/or the delivery of supportive services.
- Talent to take initiative to implement projects and pursue goals with moderate supervision.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Command and comfort with technology including Microsoft Office Suite
- Willing and able to travel as required by position.
Compensation:
CSH offers generous benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries based on geographic location. Our range in New York for SPM is $95,000 - $119,000. Our ranges are broad, and it is customary for candidates to join CSH at the lower half of the range to leave room for growth, learning, and development in the role and range. It is uncommon for starting salaries to fall above the mid-point. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
