Summary

This position is located at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the Department of Energy's Headquarters in Washington, DC, Office of Nonproliferation Policy (NA-244). The incumbent serves as a foreign affairs specialist with technical expert for NA-244 team.



Duties

As a Foreign Affairs Specialist, you will:


In coordination with senior management and the interagency, set direction and priorities for the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) program and manage program execution and serve as a member of the U.S. delegation to the NPT, advancing U.S. interests in the group through participation in formal meetings and side negotiations to support issues directly related to the NPT, such as nonproliferation, disarmament, peaceful uses of nuclear energy, regional nuclear weapons free zones, and nuclear security in regions where NPT support is inconsistent among regional parties.

Serve as an NNSA representative in other related multilateral fora, such as the UN First Committee, FMCT negotiations, P3 and P5 meetings, and Creating the Environment for Nuclear Disarmament.

Set direction and priorities for the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) program, serve as member of U.S. delegation to the NSG, and manage the NSG Information Sharing System (NISS) and in coordination with senior management and the interagency, set direction and priorities for the NSG program and manage program execution.

Serve as member of the U.S. delegation to the NSG, advancing U.S. interests in the group through participation in formal meetings and side negotiations.

As system owner of the NISS system, manage the work of the national laboratory technical team that develops and maintains the system, and work with NSG leadership to ensure the system meets their needs.

Support NPAC budget execution goals by tracking and analyzing NPT costing data.
