About this opportunity:
Responsible for overseeing social service programs within The Salvation Army, ensuring effective collaboration with community partners and maintaining high standards of service delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, focusing on providing support and resources to those in need. The Director plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day operations of social service programs including, but not limited to LifeNav, case management, supportive services, street outreach, etc… The Social Services Director provides training and supervision for all program staff, ensuring the program is administered with established policies and procedures and budget constraints; Builds and maintains effective working relationships with the funding organization, LifeNav partner agencies, other TSA staff, KHC and other community agencies to make appropriate referrals and ensure clients have access to needed resources. Some travel is required at times up to 10%.
Key responsibilities:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to think clearly and quickly in order to maintain control of client caseload.
Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple cases at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work requires driving a vehicle with exposure to the outdoors and physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, and heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Work is performed in a normal residential facility environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Required)
- Four years’ experience performing progressively responsible social service case management work, with a preference for a candidate with prior supervisory experience.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities
- Valid Drivers License
