TikTok has global offices including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Jakarta, Seoul, and Tokyo. We're growing our TikTok communications team! We're seeking an experienced communications professional to join our U.S. team to support our policy and safety communications program. As a policy and safety communications manager, you'll help tell the story of how TikTok is creating a safe and positive experience for the tens of millions of Americans who use our app. We're looking for someone with a passion for content safety, youth safety, and well-being. This person should be able to investigate, understand, and distill complex policy and safety issues, and respond to a range of situations with empathy and a user-first mindset. The ideal candidate has excellent media relations and writing skills and can collaborate with ease across teams in the U.S., Canada, and around the globe. Here are some of the things you'll be responsible for: - Managing the communications program for youth safety and well-being on TikTok. - Developing proactive strategies for a variety of internal and external channels that tell the story of how TikTok is creating a safe and positive app experience, from product and policy launches to working with our safety partners and beyond. - Creating a wide range of communications materials, including blog posts, communications plans, social media content, statements, briefing materials, op-eds, and more. - Managing reactive communications for issues and crises related to youth safety and well-being. - Engaging regularly with the media and other stakeholders, and serving as a spokesperson as needed. - Working collaboratively with product, safety, legal, public policy, and other teams, providing communications council and support, and ensure message accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

- 4-6 years of communications experience, such as journalism, public relations, or crisis management - Proven ability to work on difficult issues and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to a high volume of requests at once - Strong organizational, project management, and critical thinking skills - Excellent writing skills - Avid news consumer
