The Foundation is seeking a senior-level professional to manage and advance the Foundation’s economic opportunity strategy focused on youth and young adults and families in Baltimore citywide.
As a senior associate, you will:
- Shape an integrated and unified approach around economic opportunity in alignment with the priorities of the Baltimore Civic Site, the Foundation’s strategic framework, Results Count, results-based leadership and Casey’s equity and inclusion principles.
- Support the Foundation’s youth and community engagement, systems building and capacity-building work in Baltimore.
- Collaborate with other teams within the Foundation’s Center for Civic Sites and Community Change and other units across the Foundation on current and developing investments focused on economic opportunity, workforce development and youth engagement in Baltimore.
- Work jointly with internal support units and partner consultants to develop customized, responsive technical assistance and capacity-building engagements for community-based nonprofits, system other mission-critical partners.
- Work with city leaders and partners — including the Baltimore funding community, nonprofits, government and residents — to help advance promising citywide interests that support Foundation economic opportunity priorities as they emerge.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, public administration, workforce development, public policy or a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity and experience working with Baltimore City stakeholders, including state and local government, providers, anchor institutions, nonprofits, public and private funders and other institutional partners and diverse populations and institutions is preferred.
- At least five years of experience, including at least three years of successfully managing large projects and/or bodies of work in the workforce development and/or community economic opportunity field(s), as well as demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, building collaborative relationships, engaging internal and external stakeholders and developing strategies.
- Experience in community-driven work efforts in education, public health, childcare, early learning and the public policies that govern them and the ability to relate to and influence a variety of external partners, including civic leaders, community organizations, elected and appointed politicians and young parents.
- Knowledge of public systems in workforce development, education economic development and the public policies that govern them.
