Position Summary: The Deputy National Political Director is responsible for supporting the overall operations of the DCCC’s Political Department. This includes supervising Regional Political Directors and department staff to set and accomplish critical goals, driving all aspects of political planning, campaign services and investments for incumbents and challengers in targeted races, and general oversight of Frontline and Red to Blue programs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting in the day-to-day operations of the Political Department, including supervising political staff while building a respectful, collaborative and inclusive internal culture;
- Supporting the investments process; working with accounting and executive teams to track spending and cash flow; supervising internal and legal approval on all investments, including hybrid, multicandidate, 441ad, polling and more;
- Supporting implementation of DCCC’s incumbent protection and recruitment programs to develop well-executed campaigns that have the resources, infrastructure and support needed to succeed;
- Work with National Political Director and regional staff to set goals & execute plans for fundraising, field, political, polling, press and research for targeted campaigns;
- Build and maintain external relationships through regular briefings with allied groups;
- Manage political coordinators; supervising their responsibilities, including department and battlefield tracking documents, external collateral and memos, invoices, scheduling, Red to Blue and Frontline event support and more;
- Manage Political Department’s training program for department staff, campaign managers, and candidates running for Congress;
- Seek opportunities and develop efforts to increase diversity of candidates, campaign-related staff, and the campaigns team;
- Identify opportunities for internal staff training and professional development;
- Interface with DCCC Leadership, Members and candidates;
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Extensive campaign experience with previous political campaign management experience required; Democratic committee experience, congressional campaign management, and Hill experience preferred;
- Extensive staff management and team leadership preferred;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Self-motivation and the ability to anticipate and prevent problems;
- Strong commitment to teamwork;
- Initiative to work independently and follow through on all projects;
- A great and flexible attitude for a dynamic, campaign-like environment and pace;

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives.
