The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking an Intern for their Public Affairs Department who will perform tasks that support the Y’s relationship with elected and external partners, promote the organization's mission, vision, and values, and deepen its community impact.
Length of internship: June 17 - August 7

Key Responsibilities:
- Update contact lists (elected officials, community boards, community organizations, etc.).
- Schedule and attend meetings and site visits.
- Design and update materials that highlight programs and services.
- Provide general support to Public Affairs team members as needed.
- Work cooperatively with all staff, including attending staff meetings to better understand the Y’s public affairs strategy.
- Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all staff and participants.
- Understand and reflect the YMCA’s core values through writing and actions.
- High School degree required. Some college preferred.
- Knowledge of Word and Excel, and an interest in Public Policy.
- Ability to use a PC and copy machine with minimal instruction.
