Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

The Policy, Regulatory, and Government Relations team is expanding. The person selected for this role will enjoy the benefit of working for a well-established 100-year old Fortune 500 firm; but will also have the opportunity to be a key advocate within the Firm as an active member our team. Responsibility Summary:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop policy priorities in furtherance of the firm's purpose;
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create and manage policy strategies that advance those priorities at the federal level;
  • Support the Grassroots Task Force's advocacy to ensure the firm's policy positions are effectively communicated to stakeholders;
  • Foster strong relationships with thought leaders and policy maker who impact state activities;
  • Develop process for monitoring legislative and regulatory proposals;
  • Advocate for firm positions at hearings, conferences and other public forums;
  • Work with trade association partners and other third parties to build coalitions that advance firm policy priorities;
  • Analyze policy related materials and produce related messaging points, hearing testimony, comment letters, grassroots information, and other advocacy materials;
  • Provide strategic advice to Policy, Regulatory and Government Relations team and key business stakeholders;

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $109696
Hiring Maximum: $186781

Skills/Requirements
  • Graduate degree and/or law degree preferred but not required;
  • 5-7 years of government relations experience;
  • Direct experience working with members of Congress and the Executive Branch;
  • Knowledge of financial services issues, including tax, securities and retirement policy is preferred;
  • Excellent research and writing skills;
  • Able to persuasively communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner;
  • Skilled at influencing and respectfully communicating with colleagues, policymakers and other key stakeholders, including trade association partners and third-party advocacy organizations;
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to a changing policy environment and unplanned needs;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds and in a team setting;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Position to be based in Washington, D.C.
