Job Description
Spiros Consulting, a D.C.-based research and policy consulting firm, is looking for a junior associate to join our team. This person will work closely with senior staff conducting ongoing research for a variety of clients including highly competitive Congressional, Senate, and Gubernatorial campaigns.
Responsibilities will include:
- Tracking trends, narratives, and breaking news related to candidates in local and national media markets
- Tracking paid advertisements and other campaign activity
- Conducting in-depth background checks on campaign surrogates, speakers, donors, and organizations who are of interest to our clients
- Performing long and short-term research projects focused on current policy debates, legislation, and other tasks related to our candidates and campaigns.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is highly organized with strong attention to detail who will be able to work non-traditional hours as needed. Basic level understanding of video editing software and previous campaign experience is a plus, but not essential. Other requirements include:
- The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and hit strict deadlines
- Self-motivation and commitment to teamwork;
- Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills;
- Experience in analyzing primary source documents a plus;
- Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, campaign finance or public records, and/or other commonly-used research databases a plus.
