Summary
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a component within the Executive Office of the President that helps Federal departments and agencies implement the commitments and priorities of the President. OMB is seeking candidates for a Program Examiner position.
Works with the Resources Management Offices which together with OMB's Budget Review Division, help to carry out OMB's central activity of assisting the President in overseeing the preparation of the Federal Budget an related policy.
Duties
As a Program Examiner, GS-0301-9, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Conduct analyses of policy, program, budgetary, and management issues related to assigned program areas.
Develop legislative and administrative options for senior policymakers based on detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Analyze legislative proposals, testimony, and Reports to Congress for conformance with the policies and priorities of the President and monitor their progress through the congressional process.
Resolve budget, program, and policy issues and render advice for resolution of senior-level decisions.
Review and analyze the formulation and execution of the Federal budget in assigned areas. Prepare formal budget submissions, amendments, supplemental, and other necessary materials to support Presidential programs and review such materials that come from agencies.
Initiate and monitor analytical work on program and policy issues within areas of responsibility.
Responsibility will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress.
